Can I Return A Jewelry Box That Someone Gave To Me As A Gift?
My friend bought me two really nice jewelry boxes from jared. But I dont wear jewelry! Would the store let me return them? I havnt even used it at all yet, its like still in the box the store wrapped it in...
Even if its just store credit, thats better than nothing. I dont want to sell them or give them to someone else.
So do you think the store would let me?
Go ask for a gift card or exchange of equal value...

Most stores will let you exchange merchandise, try it and you will find out.

if you’re going to get store credit, what will you use it for? you said you don’t wear jewelry.
ask if they could put the store credit onto a card and make it a gift for someone else.

The boxes are yours to do with as you choose. Since they’re still in the original boxes, take them to Jareds and see what you can work out. You are under no obligation to keep something that you have no use for, even if it was a gift.

There’s no harm in trying. Is this friend ever in your home where s/he might see where a jewelry boxes would have been theoretically displayed? If s/he gave you two (why two, I wonder?), maybe you should keep one and use it as a box to put little pieces of junk (you know, the stuff you think you may have a use for one day but don’t know what to do with in the meantime) in, and put it in your living room or something.
