Why does my one of my diamonds in my engagement ring turn greenish under uv rays?

i went tanning tonight for the first time with my engagement ring on and noticed that one of the 9 round diamonds that are in the band was a greenish color only in the lighting of the tanning booth. Does anyone have any answers?

It's called flourescence... my ring has one diamond that glows yellow under black light. Google it... there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, there was a time when people insisted that their diamonds had flourescence. Flourescence is caused by certain gases that are naturally found in diamonds. Some glow blue, others purple, some green, and other yellow. A lot of times when you have many diamonds on a ring (like a channeled band) you will find it. Because for rings like that the primary concerns are size, color, clarity, and flourescence is so far down the line that they typically don't worry about it. Like I said, google it. I know, I (and probably my fiance even more) flipped when we noticed it! No worries
